“Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the LORD, who has compassion on you.” Isaiah 54:10
During the Christmas season people run here and there attending parties, buying gifts, traveling to visit family, and checking off items from that almost endless list of activities. Excitement and anticipation fill the hearts of most every child. Looking forward to these experiences should not make us overlook the greater message. In the middle of what can sometimes be described as chaos comes the Lord’s promise of peace to those who trust and follow Him. Today, take a moment to slow down and thank Him for this wonderful gift. As a result of the coming of Christ, we can have peace with God and peace with each other. Peace with God means we can live every day knowing there is no reason to fear Him. His love for us never ends and we can rest in a secure relationship with Him. Peace with God means we can live at peace with others knowing He is working for us to enrich or reconcile those relationships. Enjoy all the exciting things about Christmas while at the same time experiencing the peace He sacrificed to give us. Remember, His peace can never be removed.
Father, help us live today remember Your never-ending love and Your promise of peace. You are our great God who never leaves us alone. Thank You for helping us to know You and for giving us peace. Forgive us when we allow the activities of each day to distract us from our relationship with You. Amen
