Joey grew up in the Trussville/Clay area, and graduated from Hewitt-Trussville High School. He then attending Jacksonville State University where he earned a B.S. and Masters degrees in Music Education.

He has served at First Baptist since 1996, leading our orchestra and serving in the Media Ministry as sound technician for services and special events. He also plays trumpet in a local jazz band called Power and Glory.

He and his wife Sheri have one son, and the three enjoy spending time together and at the beach (where Joey is a certified Master Diver).
