Mildred has a wide background in teaching voice, as well as being an accomplished vocalist on many stages. She has taught music and voice at Miles College, Birmingham Southern and Jeff State in addition to teaching teens and children. She has a Bachelor of Arts from Samford University, a Master of Music at Oklahoma University as well as post-graduate studies at American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria. She holds non-music certifications in Alabama Planning and Zoning (University of North Alabama), Public & Private Management (Birmingham-Southern) as well as Christian Leadership (Birmingham Theological Seminary). She has had various performance roles at universities and guest artist performances including at Alys Stephens Center, Chattanooga Symphony and Red Mountain Orchestra.

She and her husband William live in Trussville and attend FBCT, where she is an active singer in the Choir!
