Week 4 - Sacrifice for the Next Generation

These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. - Deuteronomy 6:6-7

Our world is in a mess. But, it’s important to remember that we have a message of hope and life to overcome a broken world. Our calling as followers of Christ is to pass on this message of God’s goodness and faithfulness to those who will come after us.

Let’s pray together:

• Change me, O God. Nothing can happen through me which hasn't happened to me and in me. It is tough for me to expect children to be changed unless something has changed me.
• Help me talk about these things to children – not preach, not lecture, not send them off to church (although the church can be an aid).
• May God be recognized everywhere at home and in life.
