Jerusalem - Local Missions

Several mission opportunities exist right here at home throughout the year. Missions is a matter of the heart, so when travel isn’t possible, there’s still plenty to do.

See the latest ways you can get involved in local missions here!

Woman’s Missionary Union

This group (known for short as the WMU) is the largest Protestant mission organization for women in the world. WMU’S main purpose is to educate and involve adults, youth, children and preschoolers in the cause of Christian missions.
WMU educates all ages to become radically involved in the mission of God. Through the multiple programs on missions, people learn about mission needs, missionaries and ways we all have a duty and the privilege of sharing the love of Jesus with everyone…..till the whole world hears.

The mission of Changed Lives is to take individuals who are presently homeless and weave them back into the fabric of productive society. The Missions Ministry of FBCT works to assist CLCC from time-to-time, collecting items or arranging service opportunities. Watch The Link Update for upcoming opportunities.

Serving You Ministries

In 2009, Serving You Ministries  opened the doors to individuals and families in the community who needed food, clothing, and help paying their bills.  In the first year, Serving You Ministries was able to help 150 families, easing the burden of wondering how they would provide for their children. Each year the number of families helped has increased, helping over 1,000 families since the ministry began in 2009. First Baptist Trussville is excited to be partnering with Serving You to help meet the needs of these families.

Lovelady Center

On occasion we take groups to spend time with the ladies of the Lovelady Center, doing crafts with them and their children. Watch for future dates and opportunities, usually communicated in our weekly Sunday worship guide, in the monthly Link newsletter, and in other means of communication here at First Baptist.
