Matt grew up here in Trussville, graduating from Hewitt-Trussville High School. He was a standout basketball player, leading him to play collegiately at the University of North Carolina-Asheville, and later a brief stint with the Houston Rockets.

It was at UNC-Asheville that Matt met his bride, Rachel, who works in the Preschool & Children’s Ministry here at FBCT. The couple has two sons, Levi and Luke.

When Matt isn’t working with Middle School students he loves playing with his two boys, spending time with family, and of course, playing basketball in his free time.
