Belinda Bunt

Violin Instructor

Belinda is a 2005 graduate of Samford University with a Bachelor of Music degree in Education. Belinda began violin studies in Shelbyville, TN at the age of five. Growing up, she studied with several instructors including Stephen Petrescu, member of the Nashville Symphony; Elizabeth Small, violin instructor from Belmont University; and Susan Mullen, director of the Murfreesboro Youth Orchestra. Belinda was given the opportunity to perform as soloist with the Middle TN State University Orchestra at a young age and was concertmaster of the Murfreesboro Youth Orchestra during high school. In addition, she participated in Mid-State and All-State for several years. At Samford, Belinda studied violin under Jeffrey Flaniken and participated in the Samford University Orchestra and the Samford String Ensemble.

Mrs. Bunt has enjoyed teaching violin lessons to all ages for twenty years. She believes that music is a universal language that God has given everyone of all ages to enjoy! Preschool students (ages 4-5) begin with the Pascale Method. Ages six and above begin with the Suzuki method or Essential Elements method and supplement with music that is of individual interest to the student. Belinda previously taught with the Dawson Music Academy and the North Shelby School of Performing Arts. She currently teaches privately in the Irondale area as well as with the Conservatory at First Baptist Church in Trussville. Belinda loves teaching because she enjoys seeing the look on a child’s face when they can finally play their first song! It is a rewarding experience for both her and the student!
