Costa Rica Day 2

Today has been an incredible day in Costa Rica! We started our morning at Pastor Egidio’s church, where Jack Erwin preached the message, and some of our group led a children’s church. Jack did a phenomenal job bringing the Word! After church, we split into three teams and went to our work sites. Group one set up and ran a block party right up the street from the church, group two began helping Egidio build beds for kids in the area, and group three rode to the work site we have been going to for three years now to install ceilings. All of the kids worked so hard today and began building relationships with the people in Costa Rica. We have already seen God start to move in the hearts of the people at the church today, and also in our kids' hearts.

After work groups wrapped up, we headed down the mountain and stopped at the market on the way back to our hotel for a barbecue dinner. The kids had time after dinner to hang out around our hotel, swim, and shower before we met to go over the past couple of days and to prepare for tomorrow. As we debriefed tonight, it was so cool to hear the kids talk about the little things that happened today where they saw glimpses of God. We believe that He is doing big things in Costa Rica, and we are praying as a group specifically for belief and expectancy that God can and will do more than we can fathom. Before we dismissed for the night, we celebrated the two birthdays we had today (Aubrey and Clara) with some cake and a dance party! It has truly been such an incredible few days with this group, and we cannot wait to see what God has in store for us the rest of the week!

Please be praying for our team tomorrow as we host another block party and try to finish the ceiling and bed projects. Pray for energy, health, safety, and most importantly, that we would be able to share the love of Christ with the people we meet. Pray also for us to ask, believe, and expect God to move in mighty ways this week. Thank you so much for the prayers you have all been pouring over us so far!
