Costa Rica Day 5

Our last full day was such a great one! We started the morning off with breakfast at our hotel, then headed out to Pastor Carlos’s church to help host a block party. The kids did an amazing job leading their groups and connecting with the kids at the church. We had three stations: recreation, Bible story, and crafts/makeup. The women and girls absolutely loved getting to pick out some makeup and try it all on. We brought juice and crackers to hand out before we left, and then we made our way to the riverbed for a prayer walk. We were able to hand out cookies to the kids and families as we walked through the riverbed, and our kids got to see the living conditions of the people there. It was an eye-opening experience for all of us, and we all walked away from there with a perspective shift.

After we left the riverbed, we made our way to a canopy tour, where we got to zip-line through Costa Rica; it was a blast! After that, we stopped by the store on our way to dinner, and then swung back by our hotel for a bit before heading out to church tonight. Church started at 7pm, and what an experience it was! We got to join them in worship, singing songs we knew, but in Spanish. To see the Spirit moving inside those walls in two different languages at once was incredible. Jack Erwin brought the Word again and knocked it out of the park! The members of the church prayed over our group, and then we ended the night with (of course) “Glorious Day”! The kids showed the church members how we do Glorious Day, and Pastor Carlos was all in! There could not have been a better way to end our last day than worshipping with fellow believers here in Costa Rica.

Thank you all so much for covering us in prayer all week long. The kids have amazed us with their attitudes, ability to go with the flow, and faith in the Lord. It has been such a pleasure watching them serve others this week and having the chance to bond with them. Please continue to pray for us as we make our way back home tomorrow. Pray specifically for safety as we travel and for no issues with flight delays or cancellations.
