Memphis Day 3

Day 3 was another great day at our Bible club site. Our missionary leader from Street Reach has spoken very highly of how all of our students have been intentional in the way that they invest in the kids we have been working with. We had a few new faces join us at Bible club and we’re hoping they will come back again on Day 4!

Yesterday’s Bible story was on Jesus being delivered over to Pilate to be crucified. As we keep the theme of Jesus' kingdom being upside down compared to the standard of the world, our Bible story team shared about how while many kings wear shiny crowns, our King, Jesus, wore a crown of thorns and laid down His life for His followers. But now that Jesus is risen He sits enthroned as the King of kings!

Instead of doing a Bible project in the afternoon, our group was able to have some free time to explore Memphis. We spent most of the afternoon at the Bass Pro Shop pyramid in downtown Memphis where students were able to shop and go to the top of the pyramid and get pictures that overlook the city (see pics on PhotoCircle app). Then we went to dinner at Huey’s and had some amazing hamburgers. And we finished the night playing putt putt, riding go carts, and watching the girls beat the boys in laser tag.

All in all, yesterday was a great day! Keep praying for our group as we head into day 4. Pray for seeds planted today as we share about what it looks like to live according to God’s Word and display the fruit of the Spirit.

Galatians 6:9-10 "And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. 10 So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone…"
