Costa Rica Day 5
Another day in the books! Today was a good one! We had our first day in Jaco, at the bottom of the mountain, and it was a very hot and humid day! We put on a small backyard Bible club at a local Church where the kids led worship, shared the Gospel, acted out a Bible story, and led games. Kaitlyn, Halle, Berkleigh, Maggie, Hannah, and Allie taught the kids the motions to our VBS songs from this year and sung them in Spanish! Sophie shared the Gospel to the whole group, and Ella Grace read the story of Moses parting the sea in Spanish while a bunch of us acted it out. We had about 60 kids show up today and our kids did a phenomenal job of leading and building relationships with all the kids! After that, we fed the kids and their parents hotdogs and then had hamburgers and french fries made by the Pastor of the church.
From there, we headed to a surprise monkey tour! We got to see iguanas, crabs, snakes, birds, and monkeys while floating down a river, and the monkeys came on our boat and hopped on our heads! It was an incredible experience for all of us. We ended the night with dinner at a local buffet close to our hotel and stopped by the store for some snacks and drinks. The kids are currently swimming at our hotel before it is time to go to bed! Tomorrow we have one more fun activity to do before we head down to the Riverbed neighborhood, where we will deliver beds to kids who do not have one.
Again, thank you all so much for the prayers! Specific prayer requests for tomorrow are for safe travels through the city and for God to use the Riverbed to work in the hearts of our kids and the kids living there. Pray for this experience to be and eye opener for our kids and for them to step out in faith to whatever God calls them to do. Pray for salvations of the people of Costa Rica and for God’s will to be done!
